GUNS ABLAZE!

Hot to trot after the last light jigging fest, we were back once again for another round. This time the weather conspired against us but some good fish were landed nonetheless. Can't beat a day out on the water regardless.

Cold weather meant the ooglies were out in force. Not the typical start to the day with a Puffer on the IMA Gun jig...

But we get an encouraging next bite when a small Diamond Trevally got suckered into thinking the IMA Gun Peki jig was an easy meal...

The IMA Gun continues to produce, with a little Rock Cod...

The Ultra Light Jig Special Major Craft Crostage rod is the most fun one can have with a stick...

A fat Gold Spot Trevally hits the deck after a few hard runs. Note the missing IMA Gun Peki jig...

Next to come aboard in the flurry is a nice Diamond Trevally for a first time jigger. The fish took a big Jackall Jigdou jig and regretted it...

As the weather turned we hit a few good fish before the downpour came. A nice Cobia is always welcome...

It went for an Evergreen Caprice Kid jig. Another must-have for these waters...

A rare Banded Rock Cod on the limited release IMA Gun Peki jig...

A nice surprise in the form of a big Queenfish which put up a fantastic acrobatic display on the light gear...

It took a liking to the irresistable IMA Gun jig...

More action for the Major Craft Crostage Light Jig Special...

Cobias are tough customers regardless of size...

Another capture on a limited IMA Gun Peki...

The Major Craft Giant Killing has its own Light Jig Special too...

A fabulous capture on the light outfit, another great Diamond Trevally...

It sucked the IMA Gun Peki right down...

More Major Craft madness with another Light Jig Special - this time from the Solpara range - bent double...

In the meantime a small Gold Spot is landed, on the Gun Peki as well...

On the lithe Solpara this is a great capture. A Golden Trev on a small Jackall Laser Jig...

Another Cobia makes an appearance courtesy of the IMA Gun...

Into the waning sunlight, the fights go on. The Giant Killing is worked hard...

Another big Cobia comes aboard, for another happy angler...

IMA Gun Peki jig, what else?

SNAKES!

The humble Common Snakehead is often overlooked and taken for granted. In actual fact, they are the perfect predator - totally evolved to live and hunt in very harsh environments often found in this part of the world. They are smart and vary hunters that are totally adept at going after terrestrial prey too. The game of Snakehead fishing is thus a very exciting one, where angler pits skill and tackle against a very formidable adversary.

Recently we had a chance to chase some in the protected enclaves of a private property. They weren't easily fooled though, as only the best methods and lures worked. We found that these denizens were highly trained and we old wiley warriors...

One of the most successful lures anywhere in freshwater is the Jackall TN vibe. After unsuccessful attempts with other lures, this TN worked with the Jackall Nero spin rod did the trick and the first Common Snakehead hits the dirt...

This is the new DUO Realis Shad 62DR. A versatile lure which will see plenty more action in the future...

Not the biggest one in the pond but a satisfying capture nonetheless, especially on the new ultra light Major Craft Go-Emotion Floater Special spin rod...

Once the code was unlocked the hits came. Another nice one give the Jackall Nero rod a workout...

The Jackall TN scores again...

The DUO Realis Shad 62DR proves the first wasn't a fluke when its taken deep by a good fish...

One doesn't get bored of these beautiful fishes...

These fish are fit as a fiddle and the fights are to be savoured, especially on the light gear...

The old faithful DUO Realis Shad 52MR proves it still has a spot in any box...

A fat fish on the Go-Emotion Floater Special...

This one fell for a twitched DUO Spearhead Ryuki...

Another nice voluptuous specimen hits the deck after a spirited fight...

The Jackall Diving Chubby is another phenomenal lure for these type of fishing...

This big Striped Catfish created quite a stir with its strong take and long runs on the light set up...

Not your normal lure capture on the Jackall TN Vibe...

The deviate from the species list a little further with this Red Devil on the Jackall TN as well...

And with this nice Tilapia as well...

The Jackall TN Vibe really performs...

Doesn't take too long to find another one, says alot about an amazing lure...

The Jackall TN Vibe, if you don't already have a few in your box now's the time...

The Iyoken Sound is one of a few versions the Jackall TN Vibe comes in...

These Red Devils are aggressive little customers...

We get back to the Snakehead action with another nice one...

This time the DUO Realis Vibe scores...

With two consecutive hits from nice fish...

DUO Realis Vibe 52 makes a perfect casting partner to the Go-Emotion Floater spin rod...

We cap the session off with a last fish on the Major Craft Jerkbait, one of the most under rated lures we've seen launched of late...
