OFFSHORE IN THE CITY!

It was one of the trips we had to do, escape the city and just blast out on the water for day away. And why not? We had at our expense a spanking sportfisher and one of the most esteemed skippers who was hot-to-trot. The day couldn't go wrong....

Sitting pretty at the docks. The humble machine outfitted like the best of them to cater for a day of fun...

No lack of enthusiasm despite the early start...

The best of the Major Craft brand is represented...

We get rolling with a frisky Queenie on the IMA Ichimatsu jig...

And a big Spanish Flag on a Jackall Mametai jig...

Setting the new prototype Major Craft ultralight jig rod alight is a nice Bigeye Trevally...

The IMA Gun Peki jig did well to hold on...

More Bigeyes hit the deck, this one courtesy of the Xesta After Burner jig...

Some specimens are decent sized. Here's another on the Xesta After Burner...

A Bigeye accompanied by a juvenile GT taken on the After Burner and Gun Peki jigs in that order...

Queenies were mixed into that morning's frenzy as well. And do they love Xesta After Burners as well...

Getting through the hungry pack of Bigeyes and Queenies was no easy task but once clear there was a chance at one of these light tackle bruiser GTs...

A fish you can't help but love for their willingness and fight ability, the humble Queenfish scores many points in a sportfisher's card. On the little ultralight Go-emotion prototype rod by Major Craft this one goes real hard. It took a small Jackall Mametai jig...

A nice little Coral Trout to spice things up. The Xesta After Burner does it again...

Another Queenie to put a nice bend into the Major Craft MS-X ultralight spin rod...

The APIA Seiryu jig appeals to this nice Queenie...

Action is frantic all morning as a Tuskfish is victim of the Gun Peki and the APIA Seiryu picks up a Spanish Flag...

More Spanish Flag off the bottom on another IMA Gun Peki...

For variety's sake, a Soapfish comes aboard after nailing a Jackall Mametai...

Casting from shore with the Major Craft Skyroad spin rod, a Spanish Flag is nailed with the Zipbaits Trick Shad lure...

Shortly after, another one falls for a Jackall Chubby crankbait...

Back aboard, its Bigeye Trev action once more with this small one on the Jackall Mametai...

The Queenies are still at it too...

Amazing what these mini jigs catch. A minute Octopus thinks this is an easy meal...

Going deeper with the IMA Ichimatsu jig finds another Queenie...

A cute Anchor Tuskfish on the Xesta After Burner to seal the session. And a pretty good one too...

The jungle beckons again as Tackle Source buddies get wet and wild for some beautiful green and gold specimens. The fishing was tough, as were conditions, but we made the best of it and landed some good ones...
