TROUTINO vs PBass!

Was very excited to receive this new rod from Majorcraft - the Troutino! I've always been a big fan of super light outfits for freshwater use and alas, my quest for a new ultralight spin rod has finally come to fruition.
The Troutino represents great value with its medium-low pricing and industry standard componentry and build quality, just like most other rods that Majorcraft produces. The first time I pulled it out of the bag, a once-over confirmed this. I chose the TT-662ML model to pair with my Daiwa 1003 sized reel, a perfect, balanced match. The 6'6 configuration is perfect for use in most of the local waterways, long enough for decent casts from shore and short enough to be unobstructive when used on a vessel.
Mated to my fave 4lb line, the rod easily punches out lures from the ultralight end of the spectrum. The parabolic action ensures proper cushioning from rampaging fish and maximum fun in the process. The soft tip is used to succintly work the smallest lures, giving them ultra-slinky twitches no fast action rod can.
Without being able to wait longer to put it to good use, I jumped at the first chance - to join two buddies on a half day trip North for some Peacocks. Though not lunkers, they still were great fun on ultralight set-ups where we could present jerkbaits and soft plastics to finicky fish.
