LIGHT TACKLE DOWNUNDER

Had a chance to wet a line in Western Australia with some fellow fishos not too long ago. This time we left the heavy stuff at home and concentrated on having fun with lighter gear. Its amazing the variety of species on tap and we wasted no time in getting into it...
Started off casting small Pintails at some offshore FADs...

Scored a Dorado that went straight into the esky...

Targeted the seasonal Aussie Salmon next...

They were pretty obliging once you found a school...

As usual Jackson Pintails in 27g configuration worked best...

Some were pretty hefty...

Full of acrobatics, they were stump pullers too...

Was lucky enough to hop on a charter boat to jig
the shallow reefs offshore. We tried very hard NOT
to catch the hard fighting Samson, but they found us...
They were tough on light tackle and got in the way of better fish...

But were fun nonetheless...

Shout Lighten has created quite a following in WA...

Putting a Majorcraft Alexander through its paces...

Was very hard not to hook one, or five...

IMA Ro was a star performer on the day...

Everyone on board had their fair share of Sambos...

Smiles all around...
Though some were not so lucky...

Tangling with a greater pest!

The highly prized Dhufish...

We weren't the only ones enjoying the day in the sun...

What a sight!

One tackle busting Sambo...

After the other...

Fish of the day - about 9kgs of prime Jewie...

On an Evergreen Caprice...

Pink Snapper on Inchiku Jig...

Best Snapper of the day...

ANother nice Dhufish...

Smaller Jewie on Lighten 90

Small but still a first!

Beautifully marked Baldchin Groper to end a great morning!
