DOWNUNDER - ULTRALIGHT OFFERINGS!

We continue our journey Downunder with this short trip where the sun never ceases to shine and life is beautiful for the people who live and visit. For us it was a matter of finding the likeliest holes which held fish and to get some bites...

With the boat in the water in no time, off we went a hunting...

The man-made canals were strewn with million dollar houses and we had a perfect glimpse into the life of the rich and famous via the backyard...

It was a network of estuarine waterways which led to the seaway...

The emphasis on ultra light gear cannot be of more importance in this highly pressured system...

Working under the jetties the first customer we found was this John's Snapper which took a Jackall Mametai mini jig...

These estuarine mazes were patrolled by a myriad of juvenile Trevally species and they were great fun on any gear. This small Yellowfin fell for a twitched Bassday Sugapen Lipless pencil worked on the Major Craft Crostage...

We find another of its mates with the small Jackall Mametai jig...

On the ultralight outfits these little things can provide a few anxious moments...

The Major Craft Crostage Aji series rods are the perfect tool for casting and working finesse lures. And did we mention the thrill of the fight?

The Bassday Sugapen Lipless scores another feisty Yellowfin Trev...

All day we were peering into some of the most beautiful homes anywhere...

On a shallow sandy flat we had the greatest gift when a large Flathead took a lure meant for smaller fish. As it slid into view we couldn't contain our excitement...

It was good Dusky Flathead any where. And on the ultra light Major Craft Crostage it was all the more special...

The big fish took a DUO Ikakko hopped patiently along the bottom. Again this spectacular lure produces a fantastic capture...

The DUO Ikakko again with a feisty John' Snapper...

As the sun set along a main waterway the bigger pelagics were out to play and poppers were the best way to draw any attention...

This nice Yellowfin took the lithe Jackson Pygmy Popper and gave a thorough work out on the Major Craft Crostage...

Next up was an even more epic fight, courtesy of a nice juvenile GT which smashed the topwater offering and going berserk...

A nice result on the loud and brash DUO Realis Popper. What a capture...

Being amidst civilisation meant we took in the most beautiful of sunsets and enjoyed a divine dinner after...
