OFFSHORE CASTING WITH THE MAJOR CRAFT NP-JACK!

If you haven't noticed, Major Craft has quietly launched a funky new flagship saltwater range of rods: the NP-JACK. Of the series the latest line consists of some sick new Offshore Casting rods. Obviously we were over-excited and hit the water in no time with new gear in hand!

For optimum levels of fun we chose the NJC-76ML - a PE 1.5-3 rated rod that will handle lures up to 60g. Perfect for our application...

We love our saltwater casting for pelagic speedsters using the ubiquitous Pintail minnows by renown manufacturer Jackson. We didn't wait long to have the NP-JACK loaded up...

After a long fight we found it to be a pesky Shark!

It had the Jackson Pintail Tune firmly in its jaws...

Tamed by the NP-JACK. We found the rod with a faster taper from previous iterations of the offshore casting rod and it had greater butt power for more effective lifting...

Few casts later we tangle with a GT which gave the rod a good run for its money...

The Jackson Pintail Tune is supreme in these applications. It has spawned many cheap copies but alas there can only be One...

To prove its worthiness the Pintail scores a beaut Coral Trout from a shallow reef. We needed all the NP-JACK could muster to wrench this fish from the treacherous reef...

A strong fat fish, and a worthy opponent. But the Jackson Pintail Tune had it nailed...

After a few missed attempts and bite offs we finally had a Spanish Mackeral in the boat. This is the fish that defines the whole offshore high speed spinning scene...

It is the fish that has kept fishermen flocking back for more, dazzled by its speed, tenacity and sheer aggression when pelting a quick retrieved lure. That lure in question is no doubt the Jackson Pintail Tune. Gear up, for the season is in full swing!
