THE LONG WALK! Part Two

The week we spent in the forests was spent in wonder of awesome surrounds and the magnificent wildlife, apart from fishing of course. Every day we would traverse rough terrain and discover new streams to cast a lure in. It was amazing...

The flora and fauna on hand was there to be experienced if you stopped to look...

While sussing out streams we had a few casts from the boat. This Jackall Break Blade is snatched with great violence...

Turned out to be a beautiful Cobra Snakehead. It fought against the Major Craft Corzza baitcast rod with multiple twists and turns...

Another Cobra Snakehead comes aboard, albeit slightly smaller. This one fell for an Imakatsu IK Crank cast into snags...

One has to always watch were he sits in the jungle...

Back on the streams we were back into the thick of it. The IMA Sukari, continues to pull Mahseer even after the middle swivel and ring have been pulled out clean by a more ferocious one...

Back to the DUO Spearhead Ryuki and its all good...

Small but fun. No complains when the fish are on the chew...

Between the multitude of Mahseer we find the odd Jungle Perch. This one found the Jackson Kanade...

Another smallish Mahseer on the DUO Spearhead Ryuki...

Bigger fish don't waste time when getting stuff down their gob...

This one's a decent Jungle Perch sporting the hint of two stripes. Mad fun on the ultra light Major Craft Volkey spin rod...

Paradise for fish and fishermen alike...
Colours didn't seem to matter to the hungry fish. We tried a myriad and they all scored. This DUO Spearhead Ryuki in floating guise is just as deadly...

The DUO Realis Shad is a personal favourite...

We find some bigger fish in the deeper pools...

They go hard and every second of the fight is savoured...

IMA Sukari scores again...

One hook is all it takes, on the IMA Sukari...

We had to get through the eager juveniles in the hope for a larger one. The IMA Sukari was taking a beating...

The experience is enhanced when you see the take and the whole fight in the gin clear waters...

The IMA Sukari is definitely a must-have in any serious stream-fisher's box...

Some fish are highly territorial. A new species for a happy angler...

Note that this IMA Sukari has also lost its swivel and ring. Ripped out by a good fish. Though small, these fight have tremendous strength...

We never tire of admiring these special fish and know we are blessed to be in their company. The DUO Realis Shad hits another...

Of course the larger specimens are truly appreciated as they give their all in a tough fight. We get bullied multiple times but that's part of the fun...

The IMA Sukari is truly battered...

But the Mahseer still love it!

And the procession doesn't stop...

IMA Sukari is on a roll!

And there is no stopping it...

IMA Sukari again...

And again. This one is a Jungle Perch...

Then its back to the Mahseer...

No middle hook but it doesn't matter...

Fish after fish falls for the IMA Sukari...

One more for the record on the IMA Sukari...

A change of colour but the result is the same...

A nice Jungle Perch on the IMA Sukari again...

Small Mahseer but you never tire of them...

Jungle Perch on the Jackson Kanade...

Swapping to the Bait Finesse Major Craft Go Emotion pack rod and having the same amount of fun with the Jackson Kanade...

Almost rendered paintless but the Jackson Kanade holds on to the last cast, and a little Jungle Perch to wrap the trip up...

By the end of the trip the boots are ready to go into the bin. Treacherous terrain takes a toll on the footwear. But it won't keep us away for long...
