AUSSIE BASS BONANZA!

We just love chasing these fish. The humble Australian Bass have got anglers in a constant state of excitement. Elusive one day and explosive the next, with Bass you just never know what you are gonna get...

With most freshwater fishing it usually means early starts. And pre-dawn darkness usually mean surface lures work best. We got the Major Craft Volkey spin rod loaded up pretty quickly with this fish...

The FEED Lures BULB8 popper has carved a niche for itself in this arena...

They can be active feeders on the surface in low-light conditions, so we made the most of it...

The IMA Pugachev's Cobra 60 pencil is just the right size for these critters...

But poppers are always more fun. The strikes keep you coming back for more. And nice Bass like this one make it worthwhile...

The FEED Lures BULB8 is best walked with shorts bloops for excellent effect...

As the fish went deep with the rising sun, we had to look to other lures to draw the next strike. This Jackall Mask Gene is inhaled by a greedy one...

Its a decent fish too...

The action can be thick but this wasn't always the norm. The IMA Koume 40 proves deadly for this type of work too...

Diligently working the deeper drops we get rewarded with nice Bass like this...

The Jackall Mask Gene is in its element...

Then a nice surprise in the form of a feisty fighting Tilapia on the Jackall Mask Gene as well...

Last fish of the session turned out to be a smaller one, on the Jackall Mask Gene as well...
