| We thought nothing of the decent fish. But our Japanese hosts were emphatic and whipped out the measuring tape to reveal that this Largemouth broke the 50cm mark. To them this was a proper trophy-sized Bass which many hard-core Bass anglers would fail to see even in a full year's worth of fishing. It was beautifully proportioned unlike the dam-caught fatties, and we were told it would've been pretty old. From the little drain we were fishing, it was surreal... |
