TOPWATER BRACKISH ACTION!

We get muddy at dawn to battle some estuarine dwellers with topwater plugs. Makes for an interesting session when we get to tangle with some unsuspecting critters...

Sunrise is always special when near water...

The perfect tool for a travelling fisho. The 5pc Major Craft Finetail pack rod was created for trout streams but is perfectly at home in places like this where long casts are essential...

We spotted some surface commotion and the IMA Pugachev's Cobra launched in that direction didn't take long to get smashed. Turned out to be a surprise Threadfin Salmon...

In the shallows little bloopers like this can turn a dull day on its head. Here's a nice little Barramundi to show...

The handmade timber FEED Lures BELL5 popper strikes the right cord...

As the fish spread out over a vast catchment, super long casts are essential to find fish. Here is the result to end the session...

The IMA Honey Trap is always called to action when a natural twitch bait is required. It got muddy by this Threadfin Salmon but lived to fight another day...

REEF RAIDING!

Spent a day on the water just offshore in Singapore, scouring the shallows for reef critters with lures and jigs. Here's how it went...

Early morning start but everyone onboard was hyped...

First spot and the lures didn't draw a strike, so out came the micro jigs. First fish is a Longfin Trevally on the ultralight Major Craft MS-X outfit...

Jig in question is the IMA Gun Peki...

Not long after, we found another willing taker on the ultralight outfit...

On the trusty ol' IMA Gun Peki...

Next up we cast the reefs and turned up this nice Coral Trout...

It took the fast retrieved DUO Larus Minnow offshore minnow...

Going deep with the DUO Bay Ruf V-75 found this eager Spanish Flag...

Going even deeper with the DUO Realis Crank G87 and this highly territorial Anchor Tuskfish took a swipe...

Fish like these are rare gems in local waters. This Spanish Mackeral on the Major Craft Skyroad spin rod is a catch of a lifetime...

It fell for the Jackson G-Control offshore minnow cranked hard...

Casting into the shallows with the DUO Blazin minnow found another Anchor Tuskfish...

And then the DUO Blazin proved irresistible for this Spanish Flag...

A strong take followed by nasty runs can only mean GT. On the relatively light outfit it was a handful...

Another capture on the DUO Blazin, a lure which has become favourites amongst the regular fishos...

Combing the shallow reefs with the FEED Lures SPEAR30 pencil finds one of the many Longtoms we would encounter over the day...

And when we had a good take in the form of a nice Coral Trout on the DUO Realis Jerkbait 120SP, the resident sharks had different ideas...

But next fish to hit the deck would be the Coral Trout of the day. A prime specimen...

It took the slinky swimming IMA Honey Trap 95 lipless lure...

The action continues with a beautiful Bar Cheeked Coral Trout on the Jackson G-Control...

Chucking the DUO Realis Jerkbait 120SP at the drop offs is highly productive and a Gold Spot Trevally is the next victim...

And then another Spanish Flag which couldn't resist the DUO Realis Jerkbait 120SP...

GTs hunt in packs and we soon found our paths colliding. This first fish took the big DUO Fangbait 120SR with gusto...

While fish number two followed suit and found itself onboard in short time...

It took the DUO Beach Walker Fulcrum lure...

As the weather turned for the worse, we called it a day. A pretty successful one at that...

MAD BREAM ON PENCILS 2!

We continue with day two of our Breaming adventure in the South of Japan. We were blessed with awesome weather and it played an important role in the sight casting we were partaking in...

Day 2 started with beautiful blue skies cast upon the bountiful landscape...

Casting amongst the oyster encrusted pylons of the jetty with the DUO Realis Shad found this feeding Bream...

In amongst the Bream were also Seabass which were ambushing baitfish in the pylons...

Like the one before it, this nice Seabass fell for the ultra natural swimming DUO Realis Shad...

You can tell we were really happy with every single catch! This turned out to be a different species of Bream - the Yellowfin Bream. And its a good sized one...

It loved the IMA Pugachev's Cobra like all the others...

Then it was back to the monster Black Breams this place is famous for...

The IMA Pugachev's Cobra 60 was the go-to surface lure and it didn't disappoint...

We had found a little sheltered bay with gin-clear water that held an enormous population. The Major Craft Benkei Light Spin rod did an amazing job with accurate long casts to them...

At the other end the IMA Pugachev's Cobra 60 did the trick...

Almost every fish hooked was a trophy, and it had us stoked! How about this for a Bream?

On that visibly old face the IMA Pugachev's Cobra 60 sat pinned...

Major Craft Benkei UL rod and IMA Pugachev's Cobra 60 combo slayed it in the clear still waters...

Our gracious host Mr. Tsurusaki occasionally picked up the rod and showed us a trick or two...

Though they were there in the numbers we never tired of every different chase, take and strike...

Occasionally we would connect properly and be rewarded with a Bream many would dream about. With the Major Craft MS-X in arms every movement was sent through its ultra-sensitive blank...

And we have the IMA Pugachev's Cobra 60 to thank...

They displayed awesome colours and body patterns, and came in long, fat, muscular shapes. This is one beautiful specimen...

And they all lusted for the IMA Pugachev's Cobra 60...

Occasionally we would be thick in the action with multiple fish hooked. It all made for an amazing day on the water...

It was a day we wouldn't forget in awhile. And the fish kept receptive deep into the day. We could catch fish like this all day and come back for more...

Bream have amazing dentures with which they crush shellfish to get to the succulent meat. Here they are used to punish lures...

There weren't many properly placed casts which were ignored. These fish were gregarious in their appetite for shrimp and baitfish and went after every opportunity like it was their last...

We love facial close-ups and well-pinned lures. We left the fish biting late in the day, stowed our IMA Pugachev's Cobra 60s for another fight and sat back with a big smile as we made our way back...
