IMPOUNDMENT CASTING!

It's a sunny day in Queensland Australia, which almost guarantees a great day on the water! This time its a dammed impoundment with some light outfits to see what's biting...

The sun has risen proper upon arrival, and the scenery is stunning...

Chucking a topwater lure amongst some weedbeds, we find a fat dam Bass on the Major Craft Speed Style spin rod pretty quick...

Its the FEED Lures BELL8 popper which scores...

Few casts later and another surface explosion is followed by another nice Bass in the boat...

This time its the FEED Lures BULB8 doing the work...

As the sun rose we seek covered coves with lots of vegetation that just scream 'fish'...

Instead of Bass the next hook up is a beautiful Yellowbelly or Golden Perch...

It took a slow hopped Geecrack Swing Chatter chatterbait...

We learn that not all Bass are big, this smallie took a relatively large IMA Pin Jack diver...

Casting the Imakatsu Alive Chatter amongst sunken vegetation is a sure fire way to find good Bass we learnt...

And two nice Bass are in the boat in quick succession courtesy of the Imakatsu Alive Chatter...

Meanwhile, for Golden Perch going deeper is the way to go...

The DUO Realis Shad is awesome for this kind of work...

The Imakatsu Alive Chatter doesn't fail often when cast next to structure and slowly worked...

As does the DUO Realis Shad, as the Bass come onto the bite...

Great to see beautifully conditioned proportionate fish in this dam, these native Australian fish are just great lookers under the glistening sunlight...

The DUO Realis Shad finds another small one...

And the Imakatsu Alive Chatter matches it with yet another fat fish...

Switching up with the deep diving OSP Power Dunk finds this fish hanging deep...

You know the fishing's good when we get two in the boat at once...

The Jackall Soul Shad accounts for this one...

We spend the whole day on the water and the beauty of the place is enhanced with the late afternoon sun...

In the warm setting sunlight the rod buckles hard with a strong take. We get this beautiful Golden Perch to the boat after a few tense moments...

It fell for a slowly worked IMA Bita 70, a lure which attracted a few strong hits but failed to connect prior to this beauty...

With heavy hearts we had to call an end to the day as the setting sun chased us off the water...
