Took a midnite stroll around the urban waterways with our trusty Bait Finesse gear in hand to try and turn up some surface feeders in the dark. Turned out to be a pretty interesting session...
First up a feisty Common Snakehead with a deformed backbone. Didn't curb his eagerness to smash a lure off the surface... |
Lure in question is the Imakatsu Waddle Bats, a pretty interesting contraption... |
Patience pays off as we find another nocturnal surface feeder, the humble Walking Catfish. On the ultralight Major Craft Go-Emotion Bait Finesse rod it was max thrills... |
The Imakatsu Waddle Bats 'walked' in the quiet of the darkness worked... |
Not all the fish encountered were trophy sized. But every surface take was memorable... |
The Donguri Mouse from Viva worked a treat on this night... |
Amongst the smaller fish were some better models. This one went ballistic when hooked, a memorable fish indeed! |
The DUO Realis Shunmushi cicada imitation should be in every serious topwater fisho's box... |
Meanwhile there was always the smaller ones on the Viva Donguri Mouse to keep us entertained. Obviously there were way more strikes than hook ups but that's surface fishing for you. Be back for sure! |
