MAD BREAM ON PENCILS!

The day started awesome. Blue skies ahead and little wind to spoil the glass calm surface of the bay, we were utterly excited to get going. Bream on surface lures was the order of the day. It was hard to stay calm...

The perfect conditions provided picturesque pics. Captain Morishita and FCL Labo boss Tsurusaki-san ponder the day ahead...

The Bream weren't hard to find in the bay. Getting them to strike was a different matter but we got the hang of it quickly. We tried different approaches to convert lookers to eventual biters...

It usually involved whipping out the FCL Labo CSP...

Through out the day we were kept busy by these amazing fish in the shallows. The Major Craft MS-X in light spin guise was the perfect tool for this type of work. It delivered accurate, long casts and had the subtlety to work the light pencils succinctly...

When breaming it never hurts to have one too many IMA Pugachev's Cobra 60s in the tackle box...

These shallows are home to other predators too. This beautiful little Chinese Seabass provided some entertainment of a different sort...

Then it was back to the Breams. And they never failed to entertain. Here the IMA Pugachev's Cobra 60 takes another hostage...

They weren't all monsters but every capture on that topwater pencil was just as special...
