HOW DEEP DO YOU GO?

Tackle Source goes deep yet again. With our specialised gear in hand we rock up at the intercontinental shelf with our eyes on the sounder. Like the trips before, we turn up some interesting captures yet again...

Sunrise set up for the long ride out. Major Craft Slow Draw slow pitch rods all ready...

Didn't take too long to find a nice denizen from the deep...

The SFC Rector was smashed on the bottom...

The next capture on the FEED FALL jig is an amazing looking White-bar Big Eye. The first time any of us have seen this fish...

Then from the depths we get a pleasant surprise. A tough fight resulted in this deep sea dweller in the boat. The Escolar is not a common daytime catch. This one couldn't resist the SFC Messiah jig...

This trip we were putting a new deep water prototype jig from FEED to the test. It resulted in this Ruby Snapper brought up by the new Slow Draw 6SP prototype rod by Major Craft...

You know you are fishing deep when we find the ever-willing Gemfish on the line. This one courtesy of the SFC Arc jig...

The proto FEED jig finds an unidentified little Snapper next...

Meanwhile to prove you never know what to expect next, this little Scorpionfish attacks the SFC Cranky jig that is as big as itself...

It seems it is our lucky day as a second Grouper hits the deck. The powerful Major Craft Slow Draw 6SP prototype rod has it slayed...

The FEED prototype jig proves useful...

Few drops later we hit a true monster of the deep. The fight lasts an hour without any gain and it eventually led to a lost FEED prototype jig when the fish broke the leader...

No deep trip is complete without the Gemfish. The SFC Cranky finds this little one...

The FEED FALL jig has become a staple for our trips out. Here it is with a Rosy Jobfish...

And then it finds the smallest ever Ruby Snapper...

Pelagics do get in on the action too. This nice Yellowfin Tuna liked the flutter of the Kanji Free Slow jig and smashed it on the way down...

The shallowest we fished was approximately 100m. In these shallower parts the lightest Slow Draw rod in the family, the 3SP worked like magic. Pitch perfect with the mighty flutter fall FEED FALL jig, it got the attention of this hard fighting Long Nose Emperor...

This fish was a joy to fight on the lighter rod. Here is a closer look at how it got pinned by the FEED FALL jig...

By sunset we were back to shore, happy to have had a decent day's fishing in the bag...
