MORNING BASSIN'

Early mornings are best for creeping up on good fish in the shallows, and this morning was just the perfect scenario for Peacock Bass hunting in some interesting holes from shore...

First blood on topwater! Most fish are more active early on and in the early mornings topwater lures can stand out and trigger explosive strikes...

The IMA Helips is becoming a favourite topwater lure of ours...

Peacock Bass are also suckers for quick-twitched jerkbaits...

And they don't get better than the IMA Sasuke 95 worked with an ultra light Major Craft MS-X spin rod...

Spent some time chasing big Catfish under the cover of darkness. With the right lures that swam with subtle actions we scored some good fish...

A large Asian Redtail Catfish was the first capture on the light Major Craft Corzza Spin rod...

The DUO Bay Ruf Manic is a flutter-tastic lipless lure which certainly gets the attention of a nice fish...

Wasn't long before a second Asian Redtail is struck and played on the Corzza rod...
