JIG JIG JIG!

It is very often trips do not pan out the way we'd
most expect. With the last trip being a GT fest, this time
we were anxiously geared for a similar outcome.
Unfortunately it wasn't to be, but of course there
were other distractions that more than made
up for the lack of topwater action.
This was to be a trip of the jig...

Majorcraft Offblow Hiramasa out in full force...

FCL Labo - many new products to try out...

Jigs dropped...

First casualty - Golden Snapper on FCL Labo SL jig...

Followed by another Goldie!

IMA Ro doing its usual stellar job...

Poseidon Slow Jerker used to good effect...

Beautiful Goldie on Shout! Shab Shab jig...

Poseidon Spin Jerker proving too powerful!

Average sized Goldie easily dispatched...

Another one for the table - sweet Golden Snapper on IMA Ro

And they kept rolling in...

IMA Ro - indispensable!

Majorcraft Alexander Maxed out on a tough fish...

29lb Estuary Cod - a lucky capture!

Very lucky indeed! The Geecrack Long Gun jig was
found lodged cleanly within the jaw cavity, the
hooks proving unneccessary...

Much smaller Cod on the Geecrack...

Beautiful Fingermark on Evergreen Caprice jig...

More big specimens making their presence felt,
this one on a Fisherman Marado jig...

Spectacular sights to usher in the night...

After dark entertainer - the Bigeye Trevally...

Casting at sunrise yielded one fish...

Brute GT about to be lipped...

26lb Giant Trevally, no complains!

New FCL Labo HJ stickbait - unconventional but effective!

A surprise Spaniard taken on a Pintail...

Small GT taken on CB One Quick jig...

Anglers were a well-feb bunch!

Long Gun proving to be the demersal jig of choice this trip...

Another fine Fingermark Bream...

Shab Shab doing the damage...

Pesky Yellowtail Barracuda on Shab Shab...

Another big Goldie, on IMA Ro again!

A rare catch on artificials - Javelin fish on IMA Ro...

Light tackle fun - mini GT on Jackall Bros Mame Metal...

Caught a few more...

The little jigs proving deadly...

Another surprise catch - a Sickle Fish!

On Mame Metal, a first!

Small GT on IMA Heavy Surfer to end the trip...

LIGHT TACKLE CASTING

The hunt for the elusive Red Masheer has been a long time coming. Chasing this fish we experienced some beautiful streams and rivers coupled with the astounding allure of the wilderness...
Typical mountain-fed stream...

First strike on a small spoon.
New Majorcraft Troutino Stream rod blessed...

Getting a bit distracted by the abundant Tarpon population in a nearby inlet. Jackall Bros Mame Metal jig worked well...

Unknown river barb specie on Mame Metal...

Best Masheer taken on Zipbaits Raphael and
ultralight Majorcraft Troutino Area rod...

Another taken on the Raphael...

And another smaller one...

This one on Jackson Eddy spinner...

The power of their crushing jaws illustrated by this
previously brand new Jackson Komachi...

Better fish on Komachi...

And another...

Last one on light fly tackle...

Spent the next day chasing estuarine species, like this
Trevally taken on Angler's Republic Alexandra...
Nice Barramundi on IMA Bta60SR...

Another small Trevally taken on IMA Sasuke Shad to end the day...
