With the inconsistent weather we've been getting, there were no complains when the sun shone on this day. And did it shine.
The scorching heat did little to help the fishing but all were glad that the window allowed for a session with rods in hand pelting lures into the horizon. The reefy shallows would provide the thrills on this day. It was to be fun fishing with our light to medium outfits, after all you learn to take what's given and enjoy the chase, especially when you fish in heavily populated cities like we do.

The Anchor Tuskfish are abundant in our local reefs, and they get pretty territorial. But even so, I wasn't expecting to catch one on a Jackall Bros Squad Minnow retrieved mercilessly... |
The ultralight outfits are seldom left at home now, and they come in handy when the situation presents itself. Here a nice John's Snapper fell for an Ikkako. Evergreen Spider the rod of choice... |
With heavier gear like the Kaleido 'Spin Cobra Q7' we sought the larger denizens. Was lucky to hook this Estuary Cod on a fluttering Jackson Muscle Shot and stop it before it could get home and free... |
Here's a mug shot with the Jackson Muscle Shot nicely pinned... |
A fantastic capture - Coral Trout on an IMA Ligid 70 worked with a Evergreen Zephyr 'Bayshooter' rod... |
These little Snappers aren't afraid of getting it on with big prey. Here an Evergreen Combat Crank gets hit... |
With the sun at its highest and the tide turning we had fun with the ultralight stuff. DUO Ikakko finds a Tuskfish... |
Here's a big one! And it gave a good account of itself on the Majorcraft KG Lights rod too! |
Being able to cast out wide with the long rods, we were finding bigger specimens. Some like these put up quite a struggle... |
Another welcome visitor - the Spiny Flathead... |
It liked the slow twitched Ikakko too... |
A nice catch on the Ikakko - the Blackspot Tuskfish. A tough ol' fighter on the Temujin 'Spider'... |
More Anchor Tuskfishes to add excitement... |
They are very willing and make their presence felt throughout the day... |
A small Spanish Flag on the Ikakko... |
And a little Rock Cod to cap the day off. DUO Ikakko scored of course... |
