DESERT COLOURS!

Continuing on from the last post, the Tackle Source team uncovers more of what the desert has to offer as we fish hard over the next few days in trying conditions...

Our outfit for the days on the water. These boats are well-equipped and well laid out...

Each day its a dawn start before the sun appears on the horizon...

It is a barren land, but the same can't be said about the undersea scape...

On this fateful morning we hit paydirt with a school of eager Diamond Trevallies...

This first fish took a Xesta After Burner jig and found itself onboard...

There were multiple hook ups, accompanied by pulled hooks and lost fish...

This nice one on the Shout! Width jig stayed connected...

The Fisherman Andaman jig pays off too...

The new Shout! Lance slow jig does the trick with another nice Diamond...

We were hooking up drift after drift. Another Shout! Lance victim poses for the cam...

These fish fight hard even on stout gear...

The Evergreen Caprice jig worked slow always scores...

The school keeps tight and prove to be hungry...

The IMA Ro jig stars in this photo...

These fish are all of good size and we never tire from hauling. This one fell for a Shout! Shab Shab jig...

More drifts and more hook ups...

The Shout! Lance slow jig does it again...

As does the IMA Ro jig...

Slowly the bite tapers off but we must've caught a fair bit before that happened...

Off the bottom comes a pretty little Pink Snapper on a Xesta Nitro jig...

At rest are our FCL Labo 81H heavy popping rods, waiting for action...

The fish here aren't shy about hitting big baits, as this Bluefish demonstrates...

It went for a big FEED Lures SLASH swimbait...

Another Bluefish on heavy gear, this one took a large Maggy Gara Stickbait meant for larger fish...

The FCL Labo rod in action...

Turned up a fat little Mack Tuna on a big bait...

The FEED SLASH scores...

More proof that big lures doesn't necessarily mean big fish. A greedy Spangled Emperor is hauled in without fuss...

Like the fish before it, this Emperor fell for a FEED SLASH stickbait as well...

With the Spanglies around an offshore casting minnow seldom fails...

That minnow is the quintessential Jackson Pintail Tune...

After a nice topwater hit an FCL Labo blue heavy special is loaded up nicely...

A GT slides into view and gets everyone excited...

The Bright FEED Lures PIN popper has it properly hooked...

Its a good GT and a relief after a couple of hard sessions...

The FEED PIN popper has become a favourite around these parts and it doesn't disappoint...

Between big takes there is always good fun to be had with these hard pulling Spangled Emperors...

Cast with a Major Craft Giant Killing Offshore Casting rod, the Jackson Pintail scores...

We lose a few strong fish to the reef, so every one landed is to savour...

This one fell for an IMA Heavy Surfer lure...

We also had a chance to tangle with some overgrown Bream that call this place home. This first one took a sinking lipless Jackson Muscle Shot minnow...

They aren't shy to take topwater lures as well and are super exciting to catch...

The FEED Lures SPEAR EX version topwater pencil proves a winner...

Bonito are a constant pest in these parts as they aren't fussy and go after almost anything that moves. Here's a couple on the FEED SLASH and FCL Labo CSP stickbait...

Great excitement is extinguished when a take on the big topwater lure turns out to be yet another Spangled Emperor...

The FCL SPP200 proves it can never be too big...

Having fun with the light gear turns up a nice Rainbow Runner...

It took a twitched DUO Beach Walker Axcion lure...

Big Spangled Emperors are really hard to extract from their reefie homes, this one was a lucky capture indeed...

The Jackson Pintail shows why it is a firm favourite for this kind of work...

We find some more willing Bream on topwater lures...

The FEED SPEAR EX pencil shines when others failed...

These fish are addictive to catch. Many hits are missed but they always seem adamant on getting the lure...

Another FEED SPEAR EX capture...

The DUO Beach Walker Axcion sinking lure also gets one in the bag...

The Queenies here are XL models and they go after big baits like the FCL Labo CSP stickbait too...

On the final day we get a good strike on the heavy outfit in the morning...

The FCL Labo popping rod is put to good use...

The new FCL Labo TG230 swimmer did the trick with this GT...

Its a fat fish. Must be the abundance of large baitfish in the vicinity...

With that final fish we wrap the trip up. Until next time...
