MINI MAGIC!

Had another light tackle session with a visiting friend. Armed with ultralight spin gear and some new lures we had a good time. No better way to spend a few hours within the city confines...
Starting the day with a nice Asian Redtail Cat...

DUO Bivi mini-vibe taken deep...

After an epic workout on the ultra light Majorcraft Troutino rod, we were surprised to land this large Silver Catfish...

He took a bright DUO Ryuki Spearhead...

Next up was a good sized Asian Redtail Cat...

This guy took an IMA Sukari Deep...

Another rare capture - a different species of Silver Catfish...

Note the smaller mouth. DUO Ikakko was its downfall...

Another Asian Red, this time on an IMA Melty Nymph soft plastic...

Fat Asian Red...

On the fave black Ikakko...

And another...

On the same lure in successive casts...

Next the Sultan Fish were on the chew, but they were very specific on the type of lures they would hit...

The small profile of the IMA Sukari worked...

A second fat specimen...

The Spearhead Ryuki by DUO was a killer...

And a third, on almost the next cast...

Ryuki 50S in its element...

Followed by a fourth - another fat one...

Spearhead Ryuki again...

The final fish was the largest and gave a good account on the light gear with its shrieking runs...

Extraordinary performance by the DUO Spearhead Ryuki...

  1. What are rod and line poundage you are using for this ultralight session? BTW, leader poundage as well.

    1. The rod is the Majorcraft Troutino rated 2-4lb and my reel is spooled with 4lb line attached to 16lb FC leader...
