THREADS & JEWS!

Always excited to be fishing Downunder. Different species, applying new techniques and learning new terrain is all part of the challenge. When the bites eventually come the gratification is heightened...

We plow the estuary mouths, and of course they are home to the humble Bream. These guys make up a large percentage of the by-catch when going after more glamorous species...

This first fish was most welcomed on the DUO Bay Ruf V-75, we hoped it would set the tone for things to come...

Little Snapper are just as feisty in these waters and are another specie that can be encountered when fishing the estuary...

This one liked our favourite lure for this type of work - the DUO Bay Ruf V-75...

As the sun started to set we get into something proper after busting off a large fish. The Jewfish is a proper challenge and probably the cause for most frustration to anglers in these parts...

Nothing the DUO Bay Ruf V-75 can't fix...

And the DUO Bay Ruf V-75 shines after sunset and into the dark...

Another look at that captivating face and the long antennas that they use to help forage for prey in the muddy waters...

We learnt that that first fish was no loner as no sooner had we resumed casting did this second Threadfin Salmon fall for the same DUO Bay Ruf V-75...

This one is just as thick bodied and full of fight. These guys go hard and provide some anxious moments on the trusty Evergreen Kaleido Spin Cobra Q7 rod spin rod...

These fish are 'river gold' in all sense of the word...
