GEES ON JIGS!

Braving wind and waves, we find ourselves on board for another exciting adventure on the high seas. Jig rods in hand, casting outfits on standby, hopes were high barring any bad weather. This time the demersals took a backseat as the GT bite was red hot on jigs...

The Xesta Slow Emotion Flap jig scores the first hit...

We muck around with tiny jigs and score this little Rabbitfish with the IMA Gun Peki...

Then we get right into the GT School. This one took a Shout! Shab Shab jig...

Followed by another on the same Shab Shab jig, worked with the Major Craft Giant Killing jig stick...

Giant Killing in action. These Major Craft jig rods are the weapon of choice for many locally...

Xesta Nitro jig scores one...

Another GT on the Xesta Nitro jig worked slow with the Major Craft Giant Killing Slow Pitch Special...

The Xesta Nitro is making waves and it accounts for yet another Giant Trev...

All aboard get their share of the action. This GT nails the Shout! Stay jig and gets nailed in return...

The Shout! Shab Shab does more damage...

Two Giant Killing jig rods load up and soon we have two nice Gees on Shout! Stay and Width jigs...

Its hard to keep count on the number of fish that get landed as the bite goes on strong into the day. The Giant Killings onboard get worked hard...

The new Xesta Agraam jig gets in on the act...

Smiles all round for all aboard. The GT party in full swing...

The mainstay Shout! Shab Shab is a conservative but effective choice of jig...

The fish weren't fussed, they took slow-worked jigs with the same enthusiasm...

Slow jigs don't come much better than the Xesta Slow Emotion Flap...

Another Major Craft Giant Killing rod is bent double...

And another GT comes aboard...

Shout! Stay jig accounts for this one...

We end the day with a solitary topwater strike after much work. The FEED Bell60 gets slammed by this GT but it was a no-contest against the strong Major Craft Giant Killing Hiramasa light popping stick...

We put in many casts with the best lures available but the fish played hard to get this time around...

After dark the light outfits were out but again the fish were thin. This solitary Big Eye Trev took an IMA Gun Peki jig and was landed...

We were happy pulling up obscure species like this Basslet on the Gun Pekis...

Next morning the Shout! Shab Shab jig worked its magic once again...

A ncie Cobia which put up a hard fight against the Giant Killing spin jig rod...

Another Giant Killing rod loads up, this would be a long fight...

Another beaut Cobia comes aboard, and its a beast! The Shout! Shab Shab gets another on the scorecard...

Amongst the Cobia appears a surprise Estuary Cod which makes one angler a happy man...

The Shout! Flash jig gets credited for this catch...

Meanwhile we get one more Cobia on board after some huffing and puffing on the Major Craft Giant Killing rod...

Xesta Agraam jig does his one in...

Mackeral were apparent throughout the trip but they only made their presence felt through lost jigs. This little one was pinned on the Long Fall Giant Killing rod as it went for the Shout! Flash jig...

We cap the day off with some non-stop action with the whippy Evergreen Temujin 'Spiders' and mini IMA Gun Pekis...

We caught bucket-loads of Hard Tail Scads, but amongst those were some hard fighting Queenfish. And they love IMA Gun Pekis too...

This larger Queenfish was a handful on the light Major Craft Go-Emotion rod, but was a thrilling 5 minutes for the angler...

Another nice Queenie on the Temujin 'Spider' and Gun Peki combo. It doesn't get any better!

After dark the fishing was slow but a slight change of tactics worked on this Big Eye Trevally. The lipless Jackall TN50 works its magic...

We cap the night off with a surprise visitor in the form of a Giant Herring or Ladyfish. It took the IMA Gun Peki jig and displayed its acrobatic repertoire before surrendering to the Major Craft Go-Emotion rod...
